At Literary Escape Festival, our love of books goes hand in hand with a love for the places that welcome us. Every city on our festival journey is unique, with its own history, people and stories, and we believe in giving something back in return.That is why, whichever city we host the festival in, we choose a local charity or community project to support. It is our way of ensuring that the festival’s impact lasts long after the last book has been signed and the final chapter read.
This year, we are delighted to partner with Beetle & Books, Edinburgh’s first community bookshop with a mission to serve residents old and new. Founded by local bookseller and community organiser Mica, Beetle & Books aims to be much more than a shop, it will be a welcoming hub that offers practical help, creative opportunities and a space to connect.
You can support Beetle & Books during the festival by visiting their stand, taking part in the raffle, or making a donation on the day or via their GoFundMe page. Together, we can help turn this inspiring project into a thriving community space for Edinburgh.
