About the event
The Literary Escape Festival is returning to Newcastle in 2027, bringing another day filled with books, independent authors, small businesses and plenty of bookish magic.
After a fantastic Newcastle festival in 2026, we’re so excited to be coming back! Step into a world where stories meet creativity, meet brilliant independent authors in person, discover your next favourite read and take home a signed copy (or a stack – we won’t judge).
You’ll also find a wonderful selection of independent small businesses and crafters, with everything from beautifully handmade bookmarks and bookish accessories to candles, gifts and plenty of treats for yourself.
Literary Escape Festival is all about discovering something new, supporting independent authors and small businesses, and spending a few hours surrounded by people who love books just as much as you do.
Whether you’re a lifelong bookworm, looking to discover your next five-star read, or simply fancy a bookish day out, we’d love to welcome you to Newcastle in 2027.
